Overview

This session focuses on how to maintain positive body image and self-esteem, whilst learning positive strategies to build a healthier and more positive relationship with our body and identity.

Children and young people will focus on their positive qualities and attributes and will learn self-help strategies for positive wellbeing. The session is practical, fun, and engaging for children in primary school.

Secondary school students will also explore what positive body image means and how the world around us can influence the way we see ourselves.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session individuals will be expected to:

  • Have a good understanding of what body image and self-esteem means
  • Have a greater understanding of the importance of self-belief and confidence related to our body image
  • Know when to and where to access additional support
  • Learn more about Body Dysmorphic Disorders (professionals only)
