Overview
This session provides a detailed exploration of anxiety both as a feeling and a category of mental health condition. The session develops understanding around the origins of anxiety and its various impacts on individuals. The session then focuses on the concept of resilience as a set of skills that can be developed to support individuals in managing anxiety.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session, attendees will be expected to:
- Have a greater understanding of the roots of anxiety and how it affects individuals physically, emotionally and mentally
- Explore ways of coping with anxiety through the lens of resilience as a set of skills that can be developed
- Develop understanding of our own and others’ strengths in relation to facing difficulties in life and/or mental health challenges
