Joe Owers

Service Manager (CYP Counselling)

I’m Joe, the Services Manager at Herts Mind Network (HMN) who oversees all of our Children and Young People Services. I have worked at HMN for over 5 years and have always worked in the Children and Young People’s Team. I have experience in delivering long-term 1:1 mentoring, residential summer schools, groups, training, workshops, wellbeing courses, crisis support and a mental health helpline. I am extremely passionate about young people’s mental health and alongside my job I am currently training to become a psychotherapeutic counsellor for children and adolescents. This will enable me to further support young people with processing and navigating their experiences, feelings and emotions. I am very proud of the teams that I lead and the dynamic, creative and impactful work we do to make a difference for young people in Hertfordshire that are facing mental health difficulties.

Nicola Campbell

Senior Counsellor (CYP)

Hello, I’m Nicola. I’m excited to be a member of the Children and Young People’s Services Team as a Lead Counsellor. My first career was in teaching, but I saw how much mental health affected students’ ability to do their best learning, so my journey led me to become a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I’m passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment which enables young people to gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours and equips them with the tools and strategies to navigate life events.

Christine Wright

Senior Counsellor (CYP)

Hi, I am Christine, I’m a dedicated and compassionate Integrative Child Counsellor with over a decade of post-qualification experience, including two years as a Therapeutic Lead and, most recently, stepping into the role of Senior Counsellor here at Hertfordshire Mind Network.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that every child deserves support tailored to their unique emotional landscape. Creativity plays a central role in my work. I often use the arts as a communication tool, offering children a safe and expressive outlet to explore feelings that may be difficult to articulate. My style is empathic, flexible, and reflective, allowing me to meet each child where they are and guide them toward growth.

I’m passionate about supporting children, and the adults around them — in meaningful, transformative ways. I look forward to working with you.
